Surah 3:49 and the Infancy Gospel of Thomas

Infancy Gospel of Thomas

2. This child Jesus, when five years old, was playing in the ford of a mountain stream; and He collected the flowing waters into pools, and made them clear immediately, and by a word alone He made them obey Him. And having made some soft clay, He fashioned out of it twelve sparrows. And it was the Sabbath when He did these things. And there were also many other children playing with Him. And a certain Jew, seeing what Jesus was doing, playing on the Sabbath, went off immediately, and said to his father Joseph: Behold, thy son is at the stream, and has taken clay, and made of it twelve birds, and has profaned the Sabbath. And Joseph, coming to the place and seeing, cried out to Him, saying: Wherefore doest thou on the Sabbath what it is not lawful to do? And Jesus clapped His hands, and cried out to the sparrows, and said to them: Off you go! And the sparrows flew, and went off crying. And the Jews seeing this were amazed, and went away and reported to their chief men what they had seen Jesus doing.

45. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah.
46. "He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous."
47. She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!
48. "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel,
49. "And (appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah.s leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;

45. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah.

386 Christ: Greek, Christos = anointed: kings and priests were anointed to symbolise consecration to their office. The Hebrew and Arabic form is Masih .

46. "He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous."

388 The ministry of Jesus lasted only about three years, from 30 to 33 years of his age, when in the eyes of his enemies he was crucified. But the Gospel of Luke ( 2:46 ) describes him as disputing with the doctors in the Temple at the age of 12, and even earlier, as a child, he was "strong in spirit, filled with wisdom" (Luke 2:40 ). Some apocryphal Gospels describe him as preaching from infancy.

47. She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!

389 She was addressed by angels, who gave her Allah's message. In reply she speaks as to Allah. In reply, apparently an angel again gives Allah's message.

48. "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel,

49. "And (appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah.s leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;

390 This miracle of the clay birds is found in some of the apocryphal Gospels; those of curing the blind and the lepers and raising the dead are in the canonical Gospels. The original Gospel (see 3:48 ) was not the various stories written afterwards by disciples, but the real Message taught direct by Jesus.

391 I do not know whether this clause refers to a particular incident, or generally to a prophetic knowledge of what is not known to ordinary people.

atonement

atonement

atonement--Reconciliation between God and man through Christ; the uniting of our consciousness with the higher consciousness. Jesus became the way by which all who accept Him may "pass over" to the higher consciousness. We have atonement through Him.

To comprehend the atonement requires a deeper insight into creative processes than the average man and the average woman have attained; not because they lack the ability to understand, but because they have submerged their thinking power in a grosser thought stratum. So only those who study Being from the standpoint of pure mind can come into an understanding of the atonement and the part that Jesus played in opening the way for humanity to enter into the glory that was theirs before the world was formed.

By reading the letter of the Bible and accepting it as authority, men have formed erroneous ideas regarding the atonement. The Spirit of truth alone can reveal the true meaning of Jesus Christ's mission and work. The atonement as it has been understood by Christian people in the past has not taken sin, suffering, and death from the world; therefore it must be that their understanding has fallen short of the Truth. Spiritual understanding of the atonement shows the way to deliverance from sin and consequently from all the effects of sin. In proportion as people understand and have faith in Jesus Christ as their actual Savior from sin, they are set free from appetite, passion, jealousy, prejudice, and all selfishness; wholeness of mind and body is the result. The ultimate of this knowledge and of daily practice in overcoming (even as Jesus Himself overcame) will be a new race that will demonstrate eternal life--the lifting up of the whole man--spirit, soul, and body--into the Christ consciousness of oneness with the Father. By means of the atonement--reconciliation, or atone-ment--that Jesus Christ reestablished between God and man, we can regain our original estate as sons of God, here upon earth. "Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt. 5:48).

atonement can mean at-one-ment

Knowing oneness with what is, the eternal present. In oneness, actor, act and acted upon is experienced as the same. Perceiver, perceived and perceiving as well

The basic principle of Truth is that the mind of each individual may be consciously unified with Divine Mind through the indwelling Christ. By affirming at-one-ment with God-Mind, we eventually realize that perfect mind which was in Christ Jesus.

Truth, source of--God is a special, personal Father to all His children, and from no other source can they get absolute Truth.

truth, Spirit of--God's thought projecting into our mind ideas that will build spiritual consciousness like that of Jesus. The Spirit of truth watches every detail of our life. When we ask and by affirmation proclaim its presence, it brings new life into both mind and body and moves us to observe spiritual and physical laws that restore health.

The Grace Consciousness John 1-17

The Grace Consciousness John 1-17

'Grace', from the Greek word literally means "highly favoured", not an act of benevolence of God toward man. When Paul uses the word 'grace', he uses it in appreciation of God for allowing Jesus to teach us the principles of his/God's logos/mind. In effect, grace implies God giving us the right to comprehend and participate in his will (logos/logic).

"Wisdom can also be considered grace."

"Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:17); that is, the real saving, redeeming, transforming power came to man through the work that Jesus did in establishing for the mankind a new Consciousness of Righteousness. We can enter into this consciousness by faith in Him and by means of the inner spirit of the law that He taught and practiced.

It is when we wake up to this truth that we are able to move out of a consciousness of sin and instead move into a consciousness of righteousness.

The grace of God extends to all people, not alone to one sect or creed. All men are equal in favour with God.

I have Faith: "Through the grace of God I am forgiven and healed."

Gnostic Prophecies about Jesus

Prophecies about Jesus

Eugnostos’s own theological discussion about the nature of the supernal realms, ending in a prophecy of the coming of a revealer who will bring further revelation.

Eugnostos is made to prophesy about the coming of Christ as interpreter: “Now all these things that I have just told you (sing.),44 I have said in a way that you will be able to bear, until the one who is unteachable appears to you, and he will speak all of these things to you joyfully and in pure knowledge” (Eugnostos III 90,4–11).

Gospel of Thomas (52) His students said to him, Twenty-four prophets have spoken in Israel and they all spoke of you.  He said to them, You have disregarded the living one among you and have spoken of the dead.

This saying in the Gospel of Thomas it is not really a prophecy, it first confirms the Old Testament prophets all speaking about Jesus this show us that the writer of the text believed that the OT prophets prognosticated information about Jesus. next Jesus himself declares his own prophetic status

The Nag Hammadi Library Melchizedek:

Furthermore, they will say of him that he is unbegotten, though he has been begotten, (that) he does not eat, even though he eats, (that) he does not drink, even though he drinks, (that) he is uncircumcised, though he has been circumcised, (that) he is unfleshly, though he has come in the flesh, (that) he did not come to suffering, <though> he came to suffering, (that) he did not rise from the dead, <though> he arose from the dead.

This is an anti docetism prophecy

On the Origin of the World

Now the Word that is superior to all beings was sent for this purpose alone: that he might proclaim the unknown. He said, "There is nothing hidden that is not apparent, and what has not been recognized will be recognized." And these were sent to make known what is hidden, and the seven authorities of chaos and their impiety. And thus they were condemned to death.

The Revelation (Apocalypse) of Adam

Once again, for the third time,  the illuminator of knowledge passes by in great glory to leave some of the seed of Noah and the sons of Ham and Japheth—to leave fruit-bearing trees for himself.  And he redeems their souls from the day of death. The whole creation that came from the dead earth will be under the authority of death. But those who reflect on the knowledge of the eternal god in their hearts will not perish. They have not received spirit from this kingdom  but from something eternal, angelic. . . . The illuminator will come . . . Seth. And he will perform signs and wonders to scorn the powers and their ruler.
Then the god of the powers  is disturbed and says, “What is the power of this person who is higher than we are?”  Then he brings a great wrath against that person. And glory withdraws and lives in holy houses it has chosen for itself. The powers do not see it with their eyes, nor do they see the illuminator. They punish the flesh of the one over whom the holy spirit has come.

fire upon the world Gospel of Thomas Saying 10

Gospel of Thomas Saying 10 Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am watching over it until it blazes."

In saying 16 Jesus does not bring peace upon the world but fire war and the sword so in saying 10 Jesus is speaking about the trouble in his day and that of 70 CE and also in our own time

In Saying 82 fire and the kingdom are equivalent terms just as Jesus is equivalent with the Kingdom so here when he throws fire upon the world we should understand that he has come to reveal the knowledge of the Kingdom upon the world.

This is a refiner’s fire, to refine the heart of men for the day of judgement. The knowledge that makes us responsible to the truth comes by faith and faith by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Thus it can make us wise unto salvation by faith in Christ Jesus, for the word of God is beneficial for teaching, for reproving for correction, for disciplining in righteousness. This is the fire of the knowledge of the kingdom of God that saves us 1Cor 3:13-15 for our faith is tried with fire 1pe 1:7vso the forgiveness of sins is to purify the sins of the world with fire.

The fire is also the fire of judgment

Therefore, after we are refined we shall be made like fire just like Jesus is now for Yahweh makes his ministers a flame of fire (God manifestation). (Cp. Saying 82) So by listening to Jesus’ words and abide by them we will overcome our passions. Cp. Saying 7, 8, 9

10)# Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world [by showing us the Way, the Truth and the Life which is the fire that sears our individual spirit consciousness (soul) when we are doing anything that we know to be in opposition to the will of the Father - this fire is our inward trial and judgment], and see, I am guarding it until it blazes [for it will either refine (the Elect) or burn up (as chaff) the faithless]."

Good Soil Gospel of Thomas Saying 9

Gospel of Thomas Saying 9 Jesus said, "Listen, a sower came forth, took a handful, and cast. Now, some fell upon the path, and the birds came and picked them out. Others fell upon rock, and they did not take root in the soil, and did not send up ears. And others fell upon the thorns, and they choked the seed; and the grubs devoured them. And others fell upon good soil, and it sent up good crops and yielded sixty per measure and a hundred and twenty per measure.

The comparison of this spoken word of God to seed is a very happy comparison. Viewing the mind of man as soil, there is a strict analogy between the one and the other. Just as soil—the very best—has no power to yield garden flowers without seed or its equivalent, so the human brain has no power to evolve knowledge or wisdom without the impartation of ideas from without. Ideas are not innate in the human mind. The mind of a new-born babe is an absolute blank: and the mind of a grown man would be the same, if from his babyhood he were kept away from all contact with idea-acquiring agencies and sources. The kind of ideas he forms depends upon the class of ideas implanted by these external agencies. His mind will develop according to the influences acting upon it from without.

The phrase: ”bore sixty per measure and a hundred and twenty per measure." this may refer to each of the twelve disciples receiving FIVE measures, five is the number of Grace  12 x 5 = 60
If they each doubled what they were given, as in the parable of the “talents” in Matthew 25:14-29, that would be TEN measures each. 12 x 10 = 120

Jesus said, "Now the sower [anyone who is truly commissioned to sow the word] went out, took a handful (of seeds) [the Words of life], and scattered them [again He "enlightens every man that comes into the world"]. Some fell on the road [the broad way - the Judean\Christo-pagan systems of worship who are full of believers but none with sufficient faith to obey and keep the Word]; the birds [sinful minded religious leaders (Pharisees and Scribes who followed Mosaic/Talmudic Law back then and still do today through the Triple Crown Power) whose road leads to death (the whole world follows after this beast now)] came and gathered them up [they cleverly hid the Keys of Knowledge and the hidden Word from people everywhere by imprisoning and killing anyone who spoke of it (they kept the scrolls and the Keys to themselves allowing no laity access to them]. Others fell on the rock [those who gleefully received the Word but with hardened hearts], did not take root in the soil [having a lack of moisture (faith in the Word) these yearned for the "traditions" of their forefathers and were not able to endure the obedience test], and did not produce ears [first-fruit - sons of the Kingdom who carry the seeds of life within them]. And others fell on thorns [those who although believing, are already established in their worldly ways]; they choked the seed(s) ["quenched the spirit" (of the Word) due to their lusting after the world and its riches] and worms ate them [serpentine (errant) thoughts made them into food for their belly that they might use the Word for their own benefit]. And others fell on the good soil [those of a pure heart full of moisture (faith)] and produced good fruit [spiritual food and more faithful believers]: it bore sixty per measure and a hundred and twenty per measure."

lion becomes a man Gospel of Thomas Saying 7

Jesus says: "Blessed is the lion which a man eats so that the lion becomes a man. But cursed is the man whom a lion eats so that the man becomes a lion!"

Jesus is the lion of Judea (#Ge 49:9,10 Nu 24:9 Heb 7:14 Rev 5:5) The lion was often the symbol of royalty. Thus, the lion is a symbol of the King. And here are the symbolism of that which is good and desirable characteristic or quality: Majesty, courage, destructiveness to enemies symbolism Justice, attribute of “living creature” near the throne (Re 4:7) Jesus as royal majesty, King, executor of justice (Ge 49:9; Re 5:5) Yahweh (Isa 31:4; Ho 11:10) Israel (Mic 5:8)

Eating: From other sayings in Thomas, we may infer that the lion can be eaten only if it is killed and becomes a corpse compare Saying 11, 60. The lord Jesus tells us to eat his flesh. Thus his follower can only do this after his death

Thus “the lion will become man.” after Christ being formed within you after eating the meat of the word the lion (the king) will become a (new) man (in you) I must ask whether the conclusion of this logion ought not to read: [‘and the man will become lion’]. Anyway, they both make sense with this meaning

The Lion also represents the savage thoughts that arise within us
The lion was also used to symbolize human passions. Wicked men (e.g., Psa. 22:12, 13; 57:4; Prov. 28:15 1Pe 5:8).

As I have said above the lion can be eaten only if it is killed and becomes a corpse or the lion can only eat or devour the man if he is dead compare Saying 11, 60 For the lion to devour you first you must be dead that is spiritually dead.  eat or devour One's character, property, life, etc. See Mat 23:14; Hab 1:13; Psa 37:12

The lion will become a man this speaks of ignorance and evil taking over a man and turning a man into something less than a man. Therefore, we need to control our passions in order to transform us in to the image of Christ who is now the true image of God.

7) Jesus said, "Blessed is the lion [the individual spirit consciousness who has been moved by the "spirit of the world" (sin 1Jo 2:16 ) exhibiting carnal (fleshly) nature] which becomes man [becomes enlightened by the "spirit of truth" one of the "Elect "] when consumed by man [when the spirit of truth in man gets mastery over the flesh and the world i.e. "kills the old man" i.e. devours the lion (beast) within]; and cursed is the man ["one who once tasted the free gifts of the spirit" (enlightenment)] whom the lion consumes [sin once again gets mastery over this one], and the lion becomes man [created in his own image i.e. the spirit of "anti-Christ" - "who went out from among us" (the Elect)]."

Do Not Do What You Hate Gospel of Thomas Saying 6

Gospel of Thomas saying 6  [His disciples] questioned him [and said], "How [shall we] fast? [How shall we pray]? How [shall we give alms]? What [diet] shall [we] observe?" Jesus said, "[Do not tell lies, and] do not do what you [hate, for all things are plain in the sight] of truth. [For nothing] hidden [will not become manifest]."

Like all devout Jews, the disciples knew their religion, but Jesus knew the Truth. They were focused on following rules and laws, but Jesus simply followed God. They had been taught what was right and proper, but Jesus knew in his spirit what was holy and perfect. Jesus gave them a basic lesson for any interested in finding the Truth. Do not lie! He also adds that we should not do what we hate.

true fasting is abstinence from evil words and actions, not from indifferent things like food Sayings 14, 27, 104

It is apparent from Jesus’s answers that He was making it a point to inform us that the questions asked of Him were born of the flesh and not of the spirit.  Everything we do is in plain sight of Heaven and since heaven is both inside and outside, our acts will be exposed not only to ourselves but others.  Most people think that no one sees them in their little lies, their silly justifications and their (in their mind) covert actions but the reality is that they are always discovered by a son of the Most High no matter how hard they try to cover them.

6)# His disciples questioned Him and said to Him, "Do you want us to fast? How shall we pray? Shall we give alms? What diet shall we observe?" [all of these questions demonstrate a lack of understanding at the time by the disciples] Jesus said, "Do not tell lies [do not try to cover up (justify) your sins], and do not do what you hate [for this is the epitome of hypocrisy - we should "do unto others as we would have done unto us"], for all things are plain in the sight [spiritual eyes] of Heaven [those who have these eyes]. For nothing hidden [in the hearts of man or in the scriptures] will not become manifest [to those who "have eyes to see" and ears to "hear what the spirit is saying"], and nothing covered will remain without being uncovered [One with two eyes and two ears is able to discern both the lower/outward (fleshly) forms and the higher/inward (spiritual) substance of the Word for these have discovered these "keys of Knowledge" and are able to "uncover" the hidden things in man and in the Word]."

My siblings and My mother The Gospel of Thomas Saying 99

The Gospel of Thomas Saying 99
You who do the will of my father that are my siblings and my mother

The disciples said to him, "Your brothers and your mother are standing outside." He said to them, "It is those who are here and who do the will of my father that are my siblings and my mother. It is they who will enter the kingdom of my father."

A Gentile does not die, for he has never lived in order that he may die. He who has believed in the truth has found life, and this one is in danger of dying, for he is alive. Since Christ came, the world has been created, the cities adorned, the dead carried out. When we were Hebrews, we were orphans and had only our mother, but when we became Christians, we had both father and mother.

“are my brothers and my mother.” Brothers signify affection of good, and mother the affection of truth. External worship is called brother to internal worship in the Word that is born (mother) within you. That is to give birth to Christ within you.

Here the brethren and the mother are one and the same the brethren are the bride of Christ and the Mother is the Sarah Covenant styled “the Jerusalem above the Mother of us all” (Gal 4:26).

Isaac was Sarah's son, and allegorically slain, and allegorically raised. The saints are all in Isaac; for "in Isaac shall thy seed be called." This seed is Christ; not Jesus only; but that great multitude also which no man can number. This "One Body" of people headed up in Deity is the allegorical or figurative Christ. They are the children of the promise as Isaac was; the free-born sons of Sarah the free woman.

the newly born had been begotten by the spirit word (1Pet 1:23). after the birth (jn 3:3,5), it was the duty of the mother (Ecclesia) to nourish the new-born babe with the milk of the word (1Pet 2:2), supplementing it with stronger food as it developed (),

therefore to be his bride and the intimacy of the union with Jesus is suggested not only by the dominant image of the Bride and Groom, but also (in a different way) by the procreative symbol of birthing. Thus we can speak of the true believers who is conceived by the spirit-word and by the holy spirit, so as to give birth to the will of the Father, is the Mother of Jesus. And Isaiah tells us 62:5: “so shall thy sons marry thee.

The Jerusalem above is the Mother of us all (saints) including the King the Lord Jesus Christ in a spiritual sense for the Jerusalem above is made up of all true believers. Song 3:11 1/kings 1:16,17 Lk 1:72-79 Gal 4:28,30 Heb12:22-23 And she is the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, of whom it is said: “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excelled them all.“ Song 3:11 1kings 1:16,17 Lk 1:72-79 Gal 4:28,30 Heb12:22-23

From Thunder, the Perfect Mind:
For I am the first and the last.
I am the honoured one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one.
I am the wife and the virgin.
I am <the mother> and the daughter.
I am the members of my mother.
I am the barren one
 and many are her sons.
I am she whose wedding is great,
and I have not taken a husband.
I am the midwife and she who does not bear.
I am the solace of my labour pains.
I am the bride and the bridegroom,
and it is my husband who begot me.
I am the mother of my father
and the sister of my husband
 and he is my offspring.
I am the slave of him who prepared me.
I am the ruler of my offspring.
But he is the one who begot me before the time on a birthday.
And he is my offspring in (due) time,
and my power is from him.
I am the staff of his power in his youth,
and he is the rod of my old age.
And whatever he wills happens to me.
I am the silence that is incomprehensible
and the idea whose remembrance is frequent.
I am the voice whose sound is manifold
and the word whose appearance is multiple.
I am the utterance of my name.

Twenty-four prophets spoke in Israel The Gospel of Thomas 52

52) His disciples said to Him, "Twenty-four prophets spoke in Israel, and all of them spoke of You." He said to them, "You have omitted the one living in your presence and have spoken (only) of the dead."

The Gospel of Thomas says 24 Jewish prophets spoke of Jesus. How can this be, if the Old Testament God is bad?

This saying does not suggest that we should deny in any way the Hebrew scriptures for the presence and coming of Christ shows that the prophets to be truly prophets

The number of prophets corresponds to the number of books in the Hebrew Bible.

Throughout the New Testament it is emphasized that Christ has fulfilled the Old Testament Scriptures: 'To him all the prophets bear witness' (Acts 10:43).

the one living in your presence or the living one this could be pointing forward to the resurrection. The living one literally this is the living Jesus that is the resurrected Jesus, rom 6:10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

Jesus also lives though his sayings, and all true believers are the living Jesus. To become the living Jesus, you must empty yourself of yourself and let the spirit that is the mind of Christ (his character) fill you. Dying to yourself so that you can be reborn of the spirit as the living Jesus. We must experience the same conception, gestation, and birth as the living Jesus so that we might be his twin (Mt 3:17 Mk 1:11 Lk 3:22 Ps 2:7 89:27)

See saying 108 Jesus said, "Whoever drinks from my mouth will become like me; I, too, will become that person, and to that person the obscure things will be shown forth."

Another understanding would be that the living one Jesus is speaking about is John the Baptist, living in his generation John was the 25th of the great prophets and secondly he is speaking of himself the 26th, fulfilling the prophets and manifesting the Divine presence and power of the holy name Yahweh.

Yahweh has the numerical value of twenty-six YHVH=Yod 10 He 5 Vav 6 He 5 these 4 Hebrew letters add up to 26 Jesus had the Divine name Jn 17:11,12 phil 2:5-9 Jesus made the name known to others that is the teaching about God manifested in flesh.

Ultimately Jesus is not speaking about John or the prophet (himself) but he is speaking about the holy spirit the spirit of the Deity. Each of the prophets had the holy spirit for all the prophets spoke by the holy spirit which is the power of God that works within then and through them so God dwelled among them the Living One in your presence. which is called the living word

The disciples had spoken correctly. All of the prophets had spoken in the same spirit about Christ which inspired and guided them all. But his disciples speak in past tense, of history, not of the present living reality of the holy spirit among them.

Listen and hear! This very day the holy spirit, the spirit of the prophets the spirit of Christ, lives and moves among us. By reading the word of God the bible the Living Word we can put on the Christ-Consciousness and know the spirit of Christ in the prophets also works in our lives.

52) His disciples said to Him [again in their fleshly minds], "Twenty-four prophets [the 24 books of the Hebrew canon] spoke in Israel [the Jewish camp - the Old Covenant - to both condemn them and to show them the way to repentance which was to come in Christ], and all of them spoke in You [they prophesied of the Messiah (the Word) allegorically in festivals and traditions and were not aware of it]." He said to them, "You [disciples] have omitted [gone astray from] the one living in your presence [by clinging to the old teachings and ways of the Pharisees and scribes] and have spoken (only) of the dead [the "letter" lower/outward (carnal) teachings of the Word]."

The “twin” of Christ Gospel of Thomas Saying 108

Saying Jesus says: "He who drinks from my mouth will become like me. As for me, I will become what he is, and what is hidden will be revealed to him."

These are the hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Judas Thomas the twin recorded.

1 And he said, whoever discovers what these sayings mean will not taste death.

The Gospel of Thomas introduces itself as the hidden sayings of the living Jesus as recorded by Judas Thomas the twin. Even here in the introduction we are being introduced to the mysteries of the Order of God. The writer calls himself the “twin” of Christ. He gives us this clue that the objective of the sayings to be revealed is not to simply tell us about the Living Christ, but so that we can become Christs ourselves – we are to also become “twins” with our Teacher and Master.

He then shares with us the first saying of the Living Jesus – the one who finds the understanding of these sayings will not taste of death. Life is found in understanding the meaning of His sayings, the wisdom that is conceal into them. The deliverance of our beings come when we become mature, fully grasping the meaning of the teaching of the Living Lord Jesus. One could go through repetitive, empty observance and the remembering creeds and dogmas. But the true student is not interested in just learning about the Christ, but being formed into the image of our Teacher – who is the image of God. We do this through the assimilation of Divine Wisdom, being admitted into the school of the great Teacher Himself. We sit at the feet of the Master – the Living Christ and are changed from glory to glory into the very image and nature of God.

Jesus said to his disciples, "Compare me to something and tell me what I resemble." Simon Peter said to him, "A just angel is what you resemble." Matthew said to him, "An intelligent philosopher is what you resemble." Thomas said to him, "Teacher, my mouth utterly will not let me say what you resemble." Jesus said, "I am not your (sing.) teacher, for you have drunk and become intoxicated from the bubbling wellspring that I have personally measured out.

Jesus says: "He who drinks from my mouth will become like me. As for me, I will become what he is, and what is hidden will be revealed to him."

Thomas is called the "twin" of Jesus to denote a spiritual unity between the disciple and his master, as referenced here in Thomas v. 13, where Jesus says, "I am not your teacher. Because you have drunk and become intoxicated from the very same spring from which I draw."

Therefore in the GTh, the Living Jesus comes to reveal that you and he are, twins. And what you discover as you read the sayings of the Lord, is that you and Jesus at a deep level are identical twins. When you discover that you are the child of God just as he is. Therefore in saying 108 Jesus speaks to Thomas and says, "Whoever drinks from my mouth will become as I am, and I will become that person, and the mysteries will be revealed to him."

Our goal is to become like Jesus that is to become his twin brother. And this is what Thomas means twin, for Thomas symbolizes the one who has become like Jesus Cp. Saying 108

we must become the twin brothers of Christ who are the solitary or the single one the few chosen out of the many called, the twin brethren in Christ Col 1:2

Thus those who meditate on the words of Jesus are drinking from wisdom’s fountain and become like or equal with Jesus and this saying explicitly states that the true believer who drinks from Jesus‘ mouth becomes Christ himself. Drinking is done by means of investigating and finding the symbolic meanings of the parables and proverbs Jesus’ words. As is discussed at the start of the gospel

Miracles in the Gospel of Thomas

These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded.
1. And he said, "Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death."

Some claim that in the Gospel of Thomas Jesus performs no miracles but Jesus’ sayings are the miracles he performs for they are living words that bring everlasting life and that in itself is a miracle that the words he speaks bring eternal life by seeking and finding the correct interpretation of them.

However, Jesus speaks about two miracles in Sayings 29, 85 in Saying 29

Jesus said: If the flesh came into existence because of the spirit, it is a marvel. But if the spirit (came into existence) because of the body, it is a marvel of marvels. But as for me, I wonder at this, how this great wealth made its home in this poverty.

So the first part of this saying can be translated “when” “When the flesh come into being because of spirit, it was a miracle

(85) Adam came into being out of a great power and a great wealth, and he was not worthy of you; for if he had been worthy, [he would] not [have tasted] of death.

In Hebrew the word miracle(s) is derivative of the root “be different”, distinctive, Meaningful, significant. Therefore it means to be different”, distinctive, meaningful, and significant, from the world and this is done by the word of God when believed and obeyed it will change our character and cleanse us form all of the desires of the flesh as Jesus says Jn: 17:17: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” and Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Cp. Rom 10:17; 1Cor 12:8; 2Cor 6:7; Ephesians: 1:13; Eph 5:26; Eph 6:17; Phil 2:16 And so on.

The living Jesus=the resurrected Jesus, Jesus also lives though his sayings, and all true believers are the living Jesus.

The hidden or secret sayings are in signs or signified the sayings, they are symbolical that is why we are told to find the correct interpretation of these sayings. (Cp. Saying 62 Jesus said: I speak my mysteries to those [who are worthy of my] mysteries. What your right hand does, let not your left hand know what it does.)

The Sayings are not intended to be interpreted literally, as the other four Gospels often are, but to be interpreted symbolically, this is confirmed by the opening Saying #0. While a literal interpretation may make sense, only by understanding the deeper meanings of the Sayings can one truly understand them.

In the Gospel of Thomas we are to become the spiritual and the corporeal (tangible) twin brethren of Jesus in logion 13 and the intro Thomas represents what we are to be come the spiritual and corporeal twin brethren of Christ (cp. Saying 108) this is done by knowledge, by knowing the Father and his son Christ Jesus. This can only be done by knowing what the Bible says about the Father and Christ Jesus. And when we truly know what it promises about the Kingdom of God. And when it is written on the heart, it forms the mind or mode of thinking or feeling created in a true believer. This is styled the inward man, the hidden man of the heart, the Real Self, the new man that is renewed by knowledge after the image of him that created him and is manifested in the life of a true believer.

To become the twin brethren of Christ (the Thomas class) we must know everything the Bible teaches about the Kingdom of God and the name of Christ Jesus. And than be baptised into Christ and put on Christ, so that we will be in the image or likeness of Christ. First in a moral likeness of renewed man to God (Col 3:10). And second the image of the son of God into which true Christians are to be transformed into the likeness of the heavenly body the house from heaven, (Phil 3:20,21 1Cor 15:49 Cp. Sayings 29 83 84)

Christ Brought Bread the Gospel of Philip

Christ Brought Bread the Gospel of Philip

Christ Brought Bread
Before Christ came there was no bread in the world, just as paradise, where Adam lived, had many trees for animal food but no wheat for human food, and people ate like animals. But when Christ, the perfect human, came, he brought bread from heaven, that humans might be fed with human food.
The Rulers and the Holy Spirit
The rulers thought they did all they did by their own power and will, but the holy spirit was secretly accomplishing all through them by the spirit’s will.
Sowing and Reaping Truth
Truth, which has existed from the beginning, is sown everywhere, and many see it being sown but few see it being reaped.

Before Christ came, there was no bread in the world [there was no one who could show the “hidden” meanings within the Word (the spirit of the Word) for mankind had not yet been ready to receive it], just as Paradise [the garden of Eden], the place where Adam was [before the fall], had many trees to nourish the animals but no wheat [no perfected sons of the Kingdom] to sustain man [with the mysteries of his true purpose on earth]. Man used to feed like the animals [eat from the reasoning’s of his own mind], but when Christ came, the perfect man [The first begotten Son having overcome the world], he brought [true spiritual] bread from heaven in order that man might be nourished with the food of man [By showing us “the Way, the Truth and the Life” in Him, the hidden meaning of the “spirit of the Word” and the knowledge that we all have the “power to become sons”].

The rulers thought that it was by their own power and will that they were doing what they did [these thought that by killing Him they would be the heirs to the Kingdom for they did not comprehend what they were doing], but the Holy Spirit in secret was accomplishing everything through them as it wished [The Father is not only sovereign over all things but IN all things so all of this occurred for His own sake through His holy spirit which moves us according to our own hearts and that is exactly what it did to them in order that the True nature of Messiah’s death would become manifest only to those who would comprehend it]. Truth, which existed since the beginning [before the big bang (before “form” (physical) things existed, truth only existed in the thoughts (of the Father)], is sown everywhere [it is in every thought (the spiritual) and every atom (the physical) for all are inherently governed by the perfect and unchangeable law that guides them and moves them – we are comprised of both of these and are subject to the same laws within for we are all created by our Father and are all “of Him and for Him”]. And many see it being sown [many being those who are “called”], but few are they who see it being reaped [only the “chosen” who apprehend it and choose to obey and do the will of the Father by “walking” “in the way”] (Philip 11).

the father’s house the gospel of philip

The lord said to the disciples,
“From every house you are in, take out possessions,
but take things into the father’s house
and do not steal what is inside and run off.”

literally the father's house would be the temple in Jerusalem but the father's house may also be the house not made of hands a internal and spiritual house

The Lord said to the disciples, "[...] from every house [individual soul]. Bring into the house of the Father [unite all into that One universal mind the Christ Consciousness holy and perfect - ].

The vessels in the Temple represent our capacity to comprehend and our ability to measure or appreciate lifelove, and Truth, the Gospel.

But do not take [for yourself] (anything) in the house of the Father nor carry it off [this appears to be directed at those who once knowing the truth turn away and go back the poverty-stricken elements of the world and/or use it for “unjust gain”?]." (Philip 13)

The Lord said to his disciples, "Converts should flow from every house to the House of the Parents, but be careful that you are not the cause of anyone leaving the House of the Parents to return to the house from which he came."

The nature of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas

The nature of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas

The Gospel of Thomas use the words flesh, falsehood or death as a symbol of our sinful nature

Saying 28 Jesus said: I stood in the midst of the world, and I appeared to them in the flesh. I found them all drunk; I found none of them thirsting, and my soul was afflicted for the sons of men; for they are blind in their heart, and they do not see that they came empty into the world, (and) empty they seek to leave the world again. But now they are drunk. When they have thrown off their wine, they will repent

Here Jesus came in the Flesh his soul was afflicted for the children of men.
"I appeared to them in the flesh" is translated by LAYTON to read "I was shown forth incarnate"

Incarnate means “having a bodily form.” ... The prefix in- means “in” and caro means “flesh,” so incarnate means “in the flesh.”

The appearing in flesh does not mean that Jesus was part of the trinity or an angel in Heaven before he was born. “to appear” means to look at behold, to allow one’s self to be seen, Jesus was in the world but the world did not know him until him made his appearance on the world stage.

We should compare this saying with saying 101 to find out the meaning of the word flesh Jesus has 2 mother's his birth mother after the flesh and his true mother the holy spirit

Saying 101) Jesus said, "Whoever does not hate his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to Me. And whoever does [not] love his father and his mother as I do cannot become a [disciple] to Me. For My mother [gave me falsehood], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life."

For My birth mother [gave me death], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life." april deconick translation

Jesus birth mother could only give him death or falsehood which we understand to be sin in the flesh. but his true mother give him life.

Here in saying 101 death or falsehood is an equivalent expression for human nature.

Sin, is an equivalent expression  for human nature.

Hence, the flesh is always regarded as unclean. It is therefore written, "How can he be clean who is born of a woman?" (Job 25:4) "Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one." (Job 14:4) "What is man that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman that he should be righteous? Behold, God putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. How much more abominable and filthy is man, who drinketh iniquity like water?" (Job 15:14-16)

According to this physical law, the Seed of the woman was born into the world. The nature of Mary was as unclean as that of other women; and therefore could give birth only to "a body" like her own, though especially "prepared of God" (Heb. 10:5). Had Mary's nature been immaculate, as some claim, an immaculate body would have been born of her; which, therefore, would not have answered the purpose of God; which was to condemn sin in the flesh; a thing that could not have been accomplished, if there were no sin there.

This view of sin in the flesh is enlightening in the things concerning Jesus. The apostle says, "God made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin" (2 Cor. 5:21); and this he explains in another place by saying, that "He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh" (Rom. 8:3) in the offering of his body once (Heb. 10:10,12,14).

Sin could not have been condemned in the body of Jesus, if it had not existed there. His body was as unclean as the bodies of those for whom he died; for he was born of a woman, and "not one" can bring a clean body out of a defiled body; for "that", says Jesus himself, "which is born of the flesh is flesh" (John 3:6).
