The Gospel of Judas Indicated Trouble Ahead for the Papacy

Prophecy in the Gospel of Judas

The Gospel of Judas Indicated Trouble Ahead for the Papacy

The disciples report a vision of the Jerusalem temple or possibly a visit to the temple (
John 2:13–16) and Jesus uses the occasion to interpret the account of the disciples prophetically

Jesus explains both a vision that the Twelve had concerning the temple and the priesthood

THE DISCIPLES SEE THE TEMPLE AND DISCUSS IT

They [said, “We have seen] a great [house (Ezekiel 8:6) with a large] altar [in it, and] twelve men (Ezekiel 8:11,16)— they are the priests, we would say—and a name; and a crowd of people is waiting at that altar, [until] the priests [… and receive] the offerings. [But] we kept waiting.” [Jesus said], “What are [the priests] like?” They [said, “Some …] two weeks; [some] sacrifice their own children, others their wives, in praise [and] humility with each other; some sleep with men; some are involved in [slaughter]; some commit a multitude of sins and deeds of lawlessness. And the men who stand [before] the altar invoke your [name], [39] and in all the deeds of their deficiency, the sacrifices are brought to completion […].” After they said this, they were quiet, for they were troubled.

JESUS OFFERS AN ALLEGORICAL INTERPRETATION OF THE VISION OF THE TEMPLE

Jesus said to them, “Why are you troubled? Truly I say to you, all the priests who stand before that altar invoke my name. Again I say to you, my name has been written on this […] of the generations of the stars through the human generations. [And they] have planted trees without fruit, in my name, in a shameful manner.” Jesus said to them, “Those you have seen receiving the offerings at the altar—that is who you are. That is the god you serve, (2 Thess 2:3,4) and you are those twelve men you have seen. The cattle you have seen brought for sacrifice are the many people you lead astray [40] before that altar. […] will stand and make use of my name in this way, and generations of the pious will remain loyal to him. After him another man will stand there from [the fornicators], and another [will] stand there from the slayers of children, and another from those who sleep with men, and those who abstain, and the rest of the people of pollution and lawlessness and error, and those who say, ‘We are like angels’; they are the stars that bring everything to its conclusion. For to the human generations it has been said, ‘Look, God has received your sacrifice from the hands of a priest’—that is, a minister of error. But it is the Lord, the Lord of the universe, who commands, ‘On the last day they will be put to shame.’” [41] Jesus said [to them], “Stop sac[rificing …] which you have […] over the altar, since they are over your stars and your angels and have already come to their conclusion there. So let them be [ensnared] before you, and let them go [—about 15 lines missing—] generations […]. A baker cannot feed all creation [42] under [heaven]. And […] to them […] and […] to us and […]. Jesus said to them, “Stop struggling with me. Each of you has his own star, (Jude 13) and every[body—about 17 lines missing—] [43] in […] who has come [… spring] for the tree […] of this aeon […] for a time […] but he has come to water God’s paradise, and the [generation] that will last, because [he] will not defile the [walk of life of] that generation, but […] for all eternity.”

what the disciples have seen in Jerusalem is interpreted as a foreshadowing of the emerging Catholic church

The vision of the temple and twelve priests should first be understood from an historical point of view.

The only copy of it known to exist is a Coptic language text that has been carbon dated to AD 280, plus or minus 60 years.

This would place the Gospel of Judas within a type of Novatianism or
Donatism schism both groups refused to   submit to the bishop of Rome, they were labeled by Rome as schismatics

we've all heard of Christian martyrs. But the Gospel of Judas challenges the idea that God wants people to die as martyrs—just as it challenges the idea that God wanted Jesus to die. Whoever wrote this gospel—and the author is anonymous—is challenging church leaders who teach that.

The Testimony of Truth

The foolish - thinking in their heart that if they confess, "We are Christians," in word only (but) not with power, while giving themselves over to ignorance, to a human death, not knowing where they are going nor who Christ is, thinking that they will live, when they are (really) in error - hasten towards the principalities and authorities. They fall into their clutches because of the ignorance that is in them. For (if) only words which bear testimony were effecting salvation, the whole world would endure this thing and would be saved. But it is in this way that they drew error to themselves. ...
... (3 lines unrecoverable)... they do not know that they will destroy themselves. If the Father were to desire a human sacrifice, he would become vainglorious.

For the Son of Man clothed himself with their first-fruits; he went down to Hades and performed many mighty works. He raised the dead therein; and the world-rulers of darkness became envious of him, for they did not find sin in him. But he also destroyed their works from among men, so that the lame, the blind, the paralytic, the dumb, (and) the demon-possessed were granted healing. And he walked upon the waters of the sea. For this reason he destroyed his flesh from [...] which he [...]. And he became [...] salvation [...] his death ...
... (4 lines unrecoverable)
... everyone [...] how many they are! They are blind guides, like the disciples. They boarded the ship; at about thirty stadies, they saw Jesus walking on the sea. These are empty martyrs, since they bear witness only to themselves. And yet they are sick, and they are not able to raise themselves.

But when they are "perfected" with a (martyr's) death, this is the thought that they have within them: "If we deliver ourselves over to death for the sake of the Name we will be saved." These matters are not settled in this way. But through the agency of the wandering stars they say they have "completed" their futile "course", and [...] say, [...]. But these [...] they have delivered themselves ...
... (7 lines unrecoverable)

... but they resemble [...] them. They do not have the word which gives life. (The Testimony of Truth)

In a vision the Twelve Apostles see the temple and twelve immoral and vicious priests. Jesus tells them that they are these priests leading people astray as ministers of error.

the Gospel of Judas shows "the twelve disciples"—stand-ins for church leaders—offering human sacrifice on the altar—and doing this in the name of Jesus!

First  the Gospel of Judas is recording the moral decay and corruption of the church as a prophecy

Second, the Gospel of Judas Indicated Trouble Ahead for the Papacy

[some] sacrifice their own children, others their wives (martyr historical crusades and inquisition prophecy), in praise [and] humility with each other; some sleep with men; some are involved in [slaughter]; some commit a multitude of sins and deeds of lawlessness. And the men who stand [before] the altar invoke your [name

if this was the state of the church in the 3rd and 4th centuries things got a lot worest in the dark ages

"Temple/house" may signify the literal temple at Jerusalem (Mat 23:16), this may indicate that at the time of writing the Gospel of Judas the Temple was still very much in use.

It was upon the necessity of continuing worship at this Temple that the first-century Judaizing element in the -- ecclesias made its stand.

The word Temple/house may also signify the spiritual "temple" of believers -- the ecclesia itself (1Co 3:16,17; 2Co 6:16; Eph 2:21). The first-century apostasy, opposed strenuously by Paul, had set itself up as an integral part of the ecclesias.

In like fashion, the Roman Catholic apostasy, which had its beginnings in the church, came at last to enthrone itself in the most "beautiful" and "glorious" and elaborate of all "temples" ever built -- St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The Pope takes his seat in the "Temple of God" (a false claim, of course) when, gorgeously arrayed, he is carried on the shoulders of his cardinals, to the papal chair in St. Peter's. It is from this chair only, and in this temple only, that he may make "ex cathedra" infallible pronouncements as to the faith of his millions of followers.

Since he is a hypocrite, a false teacher claiming to be Christian, he “sits down in the temple of The God,” that is, what such false teachers claim to be that temple.—2Th 2:4.

An Impostor. The apostle Paul, in warning of the apostasy to come, spoke of “the man of lawlessness” as setting himself up “so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god.” (2Th 2:3, 4) This “man of lawlessness” is an apostate, a false teacher, so he actually seats himself only in what he falsely claims to be that temple.

Among these bazaars of Romish saints, St. Peter's, the temple of the Roman God, holds the first rank, being the largest temple in the world. It is 666 feet long, 284 wide, and its magnificent cupola rises to the height of 408 feet. It was 200 years in building. It is the temple of "the god of the earth", before whom, in belligerent antagonism, the saints and witnesses of Jesus stood; prophesying in sackcloths 1260 years (Dan. 11:39; Rev. 18:2; 11:3). It is the temple in which is worshipped "the Man of Sin and Son of Perdition," styled also "the Lawless One"; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called a god or is reverenced: so that, as a god, he sits in the temple of the god, publicly exhibiting himself that he is a god" (2 Thess. 2:4). Such are the capital and chief temple of the apocalyptic Sodom and Egypt; the Queen City of the Gentiles, and most holy sanctuary of Satan.

What is Prophecy 1 Corinthians 14:3

1 Corinthians 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men

Prophecy is not about predicting the future it is first edification and exhortation and comfort to the believers

The New Testament refers to prophecy as one of the spiritual gifts given by the indwelling Holy Spirit [Rom 12:6]. From this, many Christians believe that the gift of prophecy is the supernatural ability to receive and convey a message from God. The purpose of the message may be to "edify, exhort and comfort" the members of the Church.

A prophet, is a teacher, one who receives the inspiration of Spirit, an understanding of spiritual law, and imparts it to others.

The Source of all true prophecy is Yahweh Elohim. He transmits it by means of his holy spirit or, occasionally, by spirit-directed angelic messengers. (2Pe 1:20, 21; Heb 2:1, 2

Since the fulfilment of God’s great purpose is all bound up in Jesus (compare Col 1:19, 20), then all prophecy, that is, all inspired messages from God proclaimed by his servants, pointed toward his Son. Thus, as Revelation 19:10 states, the entire “spirit” (the whole inclination, intent, and purpose) of prophecy was to bear witness to Jesus, the one Jehovah would make “the way and the truth and the life.” (Joh 14:6) This would be true not only of prophecy that preceded Jesus’ earthly ministry but also of prophecy subsequent thereto.—Ac 2:16-36.

Prophecy is, in truth and reality, an emanation sent forth by the Divine Being through the medium of the Active Intellect, in the first instance to man's rational faculty, and then to his imaginative faculty.

The divine word, which suddenly descends into the human situation, unexpected and unwilled by man, is free and fresh like lightning, And the man who has to make it heard is over and over again subdued by the Word before He lets it be put in his mouth.

A prophecy, in the consciousness of a believer, is a thought that is in contact with the Spirit, that receives revelations direct from the Holy Spirit; it knows and understands divine law and its working, therefore it warns and instructs the other thoughts.

(The prophets of old seemed to stand between God and the people; it was through them that the people received divine guidance.)

A prophet (Matt. 21:4) is one who states the spiritual law.

The prophets of Luke 16:29 represent divine law.

The prophet of John 6:14 is the promise of God.

Watchman

The duty of the watchman in ancient times was to warn of approaching danger. In olden times the watchman stood on the city walls, where he could see and report what was going on in and about the city.

What fills this office in the life of man? The Christ consciousness in a believer points out to him the way of peace and safety. Man is free, however, to follow or disregard the warning at will.

watchman--A spiritually developed person who sees within and without, and with the word of command challenges anything negative

A vigilant attitude, but more from a standpoint of looking on from the outside than laying hold of and becoming one with that which is perceived (watchers, watchmen, viewers, lookers from afar;

In the consciousness of the individual believer, what does a watchman represent? In each individual believer the true watchman is the inner consciousness of Spirit, which sees all that is going on in the mind and heart of a believer.

In order to be a capable watchman for the spiritual welfare of others, what is required of one who assumes that part? One who feels that he has been selected by God to guide and direct others in spiritual ways should first discipline his own thoughts, and should become acquainted with both the inner and the outer realms of thought, the intellect, the propensities, and the sentiments in the consciousness.

In the Scriptures these realms are designated as “the house of Israel”; and when he who plans to be a watchman for the spiritual welfare of others has disciplined his own thoughts, he can go forth and successfully carry the message of life to others.

Edom 2 Esdras 6:7

2 Esdras 6:7 Then answered I and said, What shall be the parting asunder of the times? or when shall be the end of the first, and the beginning of it that followeth? 8 And he said unto me, From Abraham unto Isaac, when Jacob and Esau were borne of him, Jacob's hand held first the heel of Esau.9 For Esau is the end of the world, and Jacob is the beginning of it that followeth.

The above quotation from The Apocrypha teaches that the descendants of Esau will dominate the scene at the end of the age

Edom figures in several latter-day prophecies, such as Isaiah 34, Ezekiel 35, Obadiah and Psalm 83,

The end-time prophecies of Edom are often linked to the term ‘nations’,

Amos 9:11,12 which is quoted Acts 15:15-17

the latter-day Edom stands for those Arab nations surrounding Israel who are hostile to her and plot her annihilation. The latter-day revival of Edom in the recent emergence of several Arab nations concurrent with the return of the Jews to their land is one of the unmistakable signs of the times.

The fact that Israel has been outnumbered and ringed round by her enemies but never defeated is also taken as support for those Edom prophecies that speak, not of the defeat of Israel, but rather of the protection by God of His people

it seems certain that we are intended to read Obadiah's prophecy as a prophecy of the Last Days : Obad 1:15,17,21.

This Edomite enemy will be a member of an alliance: Obad 1:11. Edom is a member of the 10-nation Arab alliance described in Psa 83.

The controversy of the Last Days will concern God's holy mountain, mount Zion. There the enemies of Israel, including Edom, will rejoice over her: "Just as you drank on my holy hill...." (Obad 1:16).

And there also will God bring retribution upon these blasphemous enemies: Obad 1:15-17. This observation lends credibility to the idea that the last great conflict in and around Jerusalem -- a conflict which will bring on the literal Return of Christ -- will be a religious conflict, between two peoples desperately struggling to lay claim to the same "holy places".

At this point the prophecy dramatically changes tone. The people of Israel are saved from their adversity and are spiritually regenerated. They receive back the Land promised to their fathers, to its fullest extent, and the rescued and redeemed state of Israel becomes the nucleus of the Kingdom of God: "But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy... The house of Jacob will be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame; the house of Esau will be stubble, and they will set it on fire and consume it. There will be no survivors from the house of Esau... Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the LORD's" (Obad 1:17,18,21).

In short, is Obad 1:19,20 being fulfilled right now, or do they await a future fulfillment?

The order of Obad 1:17-21 suggests an answer: First, there must come a deliverance to mount Zion (v 17), and not just a military victory such as in 1948 or 1967: "But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy [or 'there shall be holiness': AV], and the house of Jacob will possess its inheritance."

And so this "deliverance" will of require "holiness" -- and for this there must be true repentance and forgiveness of sins. Only then will Israel -- ie, a renewed and glorified remnant of Israel -- go forth to possess all the lands promised to the fathers (cp Gen 15:18-21; Exo 23:23; Deu 1:7; 11:24; Jos 1:4; Psa 72:8), as detailed in Obad 1:19,20.

This last territorial expansion will never be set back or thwarted in any way. Why? Because "Deliverers ['saviours': AV] will go up on Mount Zion... and the kingdom will be the LORD's" (Obad 1:21).

prophecy of the end times 2 Esdras 5:1

2 Esdras - prophecy of the end times

Before we begin this study I would ask that you read 2 Esdras 5:1 and 6

"Now concerning the signs (Signs of the END TIMES): behold, the days are coming when those who dwell on earth shall be seized with great terror (or fear see Rev. 18:10,15), and the way of truth (The Gospel message) shall be hidden (by governments; politicians and priests), and the land shall be barren of faith. (Luke 18:8)

[2] And unrighteousness shall be increased beyond what you yourself see, and beyond what you heard of formerly.

[3] And the land which you now see ruling shall be waste and untrodden, and men shall see it desolate. (The picture presented in this verse before us, therefore, is that of a desolated system, "the ten horns hated the whore, and made her desolate and naked" (Rev. 17:16).)

[4] But if the Most High grants that you live, you shall see it (after 1986) thrown into confusion after the third period (the Third Trumpet (Revelation/Apocalypse 8:10-11 - CHERNOBYL [1986] means Wormwood in Ukrainian ) and the sun shall suddenly shine forth at night, and the moon during the day. (The sun [and] moon stood still in their habitation. Habakkuk 3:11 It shall come to pass, [that] at evening time it shall be light. Zechariah 14:7) This will be fulfilled on 2/8/2027,

[5] Blood shall drip from wood, (the process by which fertile land becomes desert caused by deforestation and DROUGHT through CLIMATE CHANGE and WASTED by pollution from heavy-metals; toxins; agent-orange; radiation; anti-personnel LAND-MINES; forest-fires and the general effects of global warming and warfare; etc.; etc.). and the stone shall utter its voice; (Stones formed by man’s spirit (the ignorance of ego) are deceptive and can cause a person to be “stoned to death,” that is spiritual death and they build temples that will not stand the test of time. )

the peoples shall be troubled, and the stars shall fall. (In symbology, "stars" represent prominent rulers (cp. Dan. 12:3). The stars falling to the earth would represent the overthrow or a revolution of world leaders being ejected from their positions of authority. The heavenly bodies are commonly used as denoting governments and leaders (see Ezek. 32:6-8; Isa. 1:1,10; Luke 21:25, etc.).

[6] And one shall reign (The Antichrist) whom those who dwell on earth do not expect, and the birds shall fly away together;

[7] and the sea (of the people) of Sodom (Sodom stands for pride and abomination;) shall cast up fish; (the coming judgement on Babylon the great Rev 18:7,8 - Rev 17:5- just as the sea casts out dead fish*)  and one whom the many do not know shall make his voice heard by night, and all shall hear his voice. (the voice of the son of man)

(Luke **17:29* But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.)*

8] There shall be chaos also in many places (THE CONSTANT CONFUSION OF OUR TIME), and fire (a symbol of war) shall often break out, and the wild beasts shall roam beyond their haunts (world wide terrorism deportations mass relocations, refugees wandering from place to place), and child-bearing women shall bring forth monsters. (in God's Opinion, speaking metaphorically):

chapter 6

6:[20] and when the seal is placed upon the age which is about to pass away, then I will show these signs (the Sign of the son of man which will take place on 2/8/2027): the books shall be opened before Heaven (Revelation 5 and 6), and all shall see it together.

21] Infants a year old shall speak with their voices, and women with child shall give birth to premature children at three and four months, and these shall live and be raised up (in incubators).

[22] Sown places shall suddenly appear unsown, and full storehouses shall suddenly be found to be empty; (of food, including the seas from over-fishing):

[23] and the trumpet shall sound aloud (the Sixth - WW3 - Phase Two), and when all hear it, they shall suddenly be terrified. (The Twin Towers attack on Septmeber 11th is the Fifth Trumpet which was Phase One of WW3 - the Invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan ).

[24] At that time friends shall make war on friends like enemies ((for food, etc.)), and the earth and those who inhabit it shall be terrified, and the springs of the fountains shall stand still, so that for three hours they shall not flow.

[25] "And it shall be that whoever remains after all that I have foretold to you shall himself be saved and shall see my salvation and the end of your world.

What is the Great Image of Daniel Chapter 2

What is the great image of Daniel chapter 2. The great image is the same as Nebuchadnezzar’s golden Image of chapter 3 whose height was sixty cubits and its width was six cubits and 6 musical instruments are used in its worship this adds up to 666 the number of the beast which is a man’s number because man was made on the 6th day

So the great image represents the entire body a collective consciousness or a society It is society as an organism.  It is "a mortal god" - a gigantic human figure composed of a multitude of human figures  a society which is against the will of God  The different materials  represent different stages of human consciousness and development of world history  they are  called ages (Greek aeons) because they rule for a limited time.  The Golden Age is the time of high human consciousness. however every age that follows human society has gone from bad to worst. the Stone that struck the image, becomes a large mountain and fills the whole earth. That is the spiritual kingdom becomes established in the whole consciousness, and the Christ Mind is enthroned in the twelve centers of consciousness,

The “image” represents the entire body. What are the other metals which make up the image they are kingdoms which for a time, rule over the consciousness.  They are states of consciousness that have established themselves in the human brain that forms a collective consciousness or a society. It is society as an organism.  It is "a mortal god" - a gigantic human figure composed of a multitude of human figures.  The different materials  represent different stages of human consciousness and development of world history  they are  called ages (Greek aeons) because they rule for a limited time.  The Golden Age is the time of high human consciousness. however every age that follows human society has gone from bad to worst.

the different stages of world history are called ages theses are the lower aeons. The High aeons or ages are those of God the age of the law which lasted for around 2000 years ending in 70AD. Around 29 or 33 AD Jesus started the gospel age which is to be followed be the Kingdom age these ages are sometimes called Heavens the gospel age is itself made up of 12 aeons  1 faith, 2 hope, 3 love, 4 promises, 5 grace, 6 repentance, 7 forgiveness, 8 baptism, 9 anointing,, 10 wisdom, 11 Eucharist 12 logos

Why do not these various minor kingdoms endure? They do not endure because of the lack of coalition or unification.

How shall all these kingdoms be unified? They shall be unified by the acknowledgement of the good news as stated by Jesus: John 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

When this acknowledgement is made by a believer, what is the result? the Stone that struck the image, becomes a large mountain and fills the whole earth. That is the spiritual kingdom becomes established in the whole consciousness, and the Christ Mind through its attributes of 1 light 2 fire 3 love 4 Beloved 5 Grace 6 Truth 7 Wisdom 8 understanding 9 perception 10 perfection 11 peace 12 logos these attributes are the 12 aeons which are enthroned at the twelve centers of consciousness, and there come to pass the words of Jesus : Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration: when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

Twenty-four prophets spoke in Israel The Gospel of Thomas 52

52) His disciples said to Him, "Twenty-four prophets spoke in Israel, and all of them spoke of You." He said to them, "You have omitted the one living in your presence and have spoken (only) of the dead."

The Gospel of Thomas says 24 Jewish prophets spoke of Jesus. How can this be, if the Old Testament God is bad?

This saying does not suggest that we should deny in any way the Hebrew scriptures for the presence and coming of Christ shows that the prophets to be truly prophets

The number of prophets corresponds to the number of books in the Hebrew Bible.

Throughout the New Testament it is emphasized that Christ has fulfilled the Old Testament Scriptures: 'To him all the prophets bear witness' (Acts 10:43).

the one living in your presence or the living one this could be pointing forward to the resurrection. The living one literally this is the living Jesus that is the resurrected Jesus, rom 6:10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

Jesus also lives though his sayings, and all true believers are the living Jesus. To become the living Jesus, you must empty yourself of yourself and let the spirit that is the mind of Christ (his character) fill you. Dying to yourself so that you can be reborn of the spirit as the living Jesus. We must experience the same conception, gestation, and birth as the living Jesus so that we might be his twin (Mt 3:17 Mk 1:11 Lk 3:22 Ps 2:7 89:27)

See saying 108 Jesus said, "Whoever drinks from my mouth will become like me; I, too, will become that person, and to that person the obscure things will be shown forth."

Another understanding would be that the living one Jesus is speaking about is John the Baptist, living in his generation John was the 25th of the great prophets and secondly he is speaking of himself the 26th, fulfilling the prophets and manifesting the Divine presence and power of the holy name Yahweh.

Yahweh has the numerical value of twenty-six YHVH=Yod 10 He 5 Vav 6 He 5 these 4 Hebrew letters add up to 26 Jesus had the Divine name Jn 17:11,12 phil 2:5-9 Jesus made the name known to others that is the teaching about God manifested in flesh.

Ultimately Jesus is not speaking about John or the prophet (himself) but he is speaking about the holy spirit the spirit of the Deity. Each of the prophets had the holy spirit for all the prophets spoke by the holy spirit which is the power of God that works within then and through them so God dwelled among them the Living One in your presence. which is called the living word

The disciples had spoken correctly. All of the prophets had spoken in the same spirit about Christ which inspired and guided them all. But his disciples speak in past tense, of history, not of the present living reality of the holy spirit among them.

Listen and hear! This very day the holy spirit, the spirit of the prophets the spirit of Christ, lives and moves among us. By reading the word of God the bible the Living Word we can put on the Christ-Consciousness and know the spirit of Christ in the prophets also works in our lives.

52) His disciples said to Him [again in their fleshly minds], "Twenty-four prophets [the 24 books of the Hebrew canon] spoke in Israel [the Jewish camp - the Old Covenant - to both condemn them and to show them the way to repentance which was to come in Christ], and all of them spoke in You [they prophesied of the Messiah (the Word) allegorically in festivals and traditions and were not aware of it]." He said to them, "You [disciples] have omitted [gone astray from] the one living in your presence [by clinging to the old teachings and ways of the Pharisees and scribes] and have spoken (only) of the dead [the "letter" lower/outward (carnal) teachings of the Word]."
