hidden revelation Gospel of Mary

chapter 5

5) Peter said to Mary, Sister we know that the Savior loved you more than the rest of woman.
6) Tell us the words of the Savior which you remember which you know, but we do not, nor have we heard them.
7) Mary answered and said, What is hidden from you I will proclaim to you.

It seems from the words of Peter that Mary played a special role even before the resurrection and Peter now asks Mary for a hidden revelation

5  Peter said to Mary, "Sister, we know that the Savior loved you more than all other women.

the statement that the Messiah loved Mary more than than the rest of woman seems to link it to the saying in the Gospel of Philip that he loved her more than all other disciple

The Gospel of Philip Wisdom and Mary of Magdala

Wisdom, who is called barren, is the mother of the angels.
The companion of the [savior] is Mary of Magdala. The [savior loved] her more than [all] the disciples, [and he] kissed her often on her [mouth].
The other [disciples] [64]…said to him, “Why do you love her more than all of us?”
The savior answered and said to them, “Why do I not love you like her? If a blind person and one who can see are both in darkness, they are the same. When the light comes, one who can see will see the light, and the blind person will stay in darkness.”

6 Tell us the words of the Savior that you remember, the things which you know that we don't because we haven't heard them."
7  Mary responded, "I will teach you about what is hidden from you." And she began to speak these words to them.

Mary now declares her willingness to impart this special teaching too

Mary the Consoler the Gospel of Mary

Chapter 5

1) But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, How shall we go to the Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare Him, how will they spare us?
2) Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.
3) But rather, let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into Men.
4) When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the Good, and they began to discuss the words of the Savior.

The Apostles think that they will not be successful in preaching the message they will suffer the same fate as the messiah himself

1) But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, How shall we go to the Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare Him, how will they spare us?

Mary now assumes the main position she acts just as the Messiah did before her embracing the Apostles and encouraging them.

2) Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.
3) But rather, let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into Men.

Then Mary stood up. She greeted them all, addressing her brothers and sisters, "Do not weep and be distressed nor let your hearts be irresolute. For his grace will be with you all and will shelter you. Rather we should praise his greatness, for he has prepared us and made us true Human beings."

for He has prepared us and made us into Men
for he has prepared us and made us true Human beings

Men like the English both Greek and Coptic words have a term "man" which can indicate either a male individual or humanity a a whole and a term "male" which can only refer  to masculine-gendered person. In the Gospel of Thomas  the "term" is male in the Gospel of Mary it is "man" since in the  the Gospel of Mary  both men and women  disciples are made "men" the intent is generic (human beings )

This should be understood in light of Jesus's words that For the Son of Man is within you. his saving work allows us to follow after him the way to the true human existence and to find within ourselves the son of man as our own new self

Surah 3:44 and The Protoevangelium of James

Surah 3:44 and The Protoevangelium of James

The Protoevangelium of James

8. And her parents went down marvelling, and praising the Lord God, because the child had not turned back. And Mary was in the temple of the Lord as if she were a dove that dwelt there, and she received food from the hand of an angel. And when she was twelve years old there was held a council of the priests, saying: Behold, Mary has reached the age of twelve years in the temple of the Lord. What then shall we do with her, test perchance she defile the sanctuary of the Lord? And they said to the high priest: Thou standest by the altar of the Lord; go in, and pray concerning her; and whatever the Lord shall manifest unto thee, that also will we do. And the high priest went in, taking the robe with the twelve bells into the holy of holies; and he prayed concerning her. And behold an angel of the Lord stood by him, saying unto him: Zacharias, Zacharias, go out and assemble the widowers of the people, and let them bring each his rod; and to whomsoever the Lord shall show a sign, his wife shall she be. And the heralds went out through all the circuit of Judaea, and the trumpet of the Lord sounded, and all ran.

9. And Joseph, throwing away his axe, went out to meet them; and when they had assembled, they went away to the high priest, taking with them their rods. And he, taking the rods of all of them, entered into the temple, and prayed; and having ended his prayer, he took the rods and came out, and gave them to them: but there was no sign in them, and Joseph took his rod last; and, behold, a dove came out of the rod, and flew upon Joseph's head. And the priest said to Joseph, Thou hast been chosen by lot to take into thy keeping the virgin of the Lord. But Joseph refused, saying: I have children, and I am an old man, and she is a young girl. I am afraid lest I become a laughing-stock to the sons of Israel. And the priest said to Joseph: Fear the Lord thy God, and remember what the Lord did to Dathan, and Abiram, and Korah; how the earth opened, and they were swallowed up on account of their contradiction. And now fear, O Joseph, lest the same things happen in thy house. And Joseph was afraid, and took her into his keeping. And Joseph said to Mary: Behold, I have received thee from the temple of the Lord; and now I leave thee in my house, and go away to build my buildings, and I shall come to thee. The Lord will protect thee.

10. And there was a council of the priests, saying: Let us make a veil for the temple of the Lord. And the priest said: Call to me the undefiled virgins of the family of David. And the officers went away, and sought, and found seven virgins. And the priest remembered the child Mary, that she was of the family of David, and undefiled before God. And the officers went away and brought her. And they brought them into the temple of the Lord. And the priest said: Choose for me by lot who shall spin the gold, and the white, and the fine linen, and the silk, and the blue, and the scarlet, and the true purple. And the true purple and the scarlet fell to the lot of Mary, and she took them, and went away to her house. And at that time Zacharias was dumb, and Samuel was in his place until the time that Zacharias spake. And Mary took the scarlet, and span it.

Surah 3:44

42. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations.
43. "O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down."
44. This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger.) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

384 Literally, reeds: aqlam.. For the Arab custom of casting lots with arrows, see 2:219, n. 241.

385 Christian apocryphal writings mention the contention between the priests as to the honour of taking charge of Mary, and how it was decided by means of rods and reeds in favour of Zakariya.

Three Women Named Mary The Gospel of Philip

Three Women Named Mary

Three women always walked with the master: Mary his mother, <his> sister, and Mary of Magdala, who is called his companion. For “Mary” is the name of his sister, his mother, and his companion.

There are three Christs the Aeon Christ as the consort of the holy spirit in the Pleroma the Saviour as consort of Sophia and the earthly Jesus and Mary of Magdala, who is called his companion

There were three who always walked with the Lord: Mary, his mother [symbolic for the fleshly womb with which we must first emerge from], and her sister [symbolic of the feminine individual spirit consciousness within the body “moving” our thoughts to and fro in the world], and Magdalene, the one who was called his companion [the "helper" - she represents the spirit or sub-conscious mind which seeks all knowledge from the feet of the Master]. His sister and his mother and his companion were each a Mary [these are all considered feminine in nature]. (Philip 22).

Wisdom and Mary of Magdala
Wisdom, who is called barren, is the mother of the angels.
The companion of the [savior] is Mary of Magdala. The [savior loved] her more than [all] the disciples, [and he] kissed her often on her [mouth].
The other [disciples] [64]…said to him, “Why do you love her more than all of us?”
The savior answered and said to them, “Why do I not love you like her? If a blind person and one who can see are both in darkness, they are the same. When the light comes, one who can see will see the light, and the blind person will stay in darkness.”
In this passage many have misunderstood it's meaning, they take and run with it without checking other text that speaks of the same thing.
Companion:......... one that accompanies another
In a group, there are companions being both male or female, these assist in helping the group to understand what the master of the group is saying.
In the book of "Thunder the Perfect Mind" Sophia speaks of herself being " the Mother, sister and companion, this is what Christ meant by saying that Mary was his companion here on this world,

Christ was referring to the power of the Sophia that was on the inside of Mary his mother, sister and also in Mary Magdalene, it was the power of the Sophia that is his companion, but most who have not eaten the full loaf, never can tell or explain what the entire loaf taste like, they only taste a piece and do not know the fullness of it's flavor.

The Sophia is called the barren one, she has perfect virginity, and many sons also, and we are virgins as well.

I am the members of my mother
and the barren one with many son

To accompany some one you must know that one, and as I have said on many occasions accompany me as I accompany Christ, in this way we are his companions, this is what was meant by Mary was Christ companion, she accompanied Christ more and closer than his other disciples she understood the mysteries he spoke of on a higher level than they, and he often complimented her, this is what it means to " kiss upon the lips " he simply congratulated her for understanding him more that his disciples did.
Ex 18:7 At once Moses went on out to meet his father-in-law, and he proceeded to prostrate himself and to kiss him; and they each one began asking how the other was getting along. After that they went into the tent.
Samuel kissed Saul when anointing him as Israel’s first king.—1Sa 10:1
Rom 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the congregations of the Christ greet YOU

In their traditional manner to kiss one upon the lips means " to compliment, give credit to, to favour

There was no word for "kiss" in Aramaic it's just like saying "your pulling my leg" there are those that speak of his blood line and want to link themselves to him, for that reason he took his body so that they could not match the DNA of the physical body that he was in to the elite rulers of this world.
The “Holy Kiss.” Among early Christians there was the “holy kiss” (Ro 16:16; 1Co 16:20; 2Co 13:12; 1Th 5:26) or “kiss of love” (1Pe 5:14). This early Christian form of greeting may correspond to the ancient Hebrew practice of greeting one with a kiss. The “holy kiss” or “kiss of love” evidently reflected the wholesome love and unity widespread in the Christian congregation.—Joh 13:34, 35.
Figurative Use. Kissing, as representing a demonstration of respect and devotion, is mentioned in the inspired advice to “serve Jehovah with fear” and “kiss the son, that you may not perish from the way.” (Ps 2:11, 12) Persons responding favourably and submitting to the Messiah God's appointed as King and his Kingdom will realize great blessings when it can be said: “Righteousness and peace—they have kissed each other,” because the connection of the two will be as evident to all as is the close association of affectionate friends.—Ps 85:10.

Mary Conceiving the Gospel of Philip

Mary Conceiving the gospel of philip, gospel of thomas,

Mary Conceiving
Some said Mary became pregnant by the holy spirit. They are wrong and do not know what they are saying. When did a woman ever get pregnant by a woman?

Mary is the virgin whom none of the powers defiled. This is greatly cruse to the Hebrews, who are the apostles and apostolic persons. This virgin whom none of the powers defiled [wishes that] the powers would defile themselves.
My Father
The master [would] not have said, “My [father who is] in heaven,” if [he] did not also have another father. He would simply have said, “[My father].”

Some said, "Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit." They are in error. They do not know what they are saying. When did a woman ever conceive by a woman [she was not defiled when the holy spirit impregnated her through David's seed see my study The Artificial Insemination of Mary with David's semen. Because David's seed and Mary's egg were implanted. Later the embryo was holy but still Adamic by which we mean our fall sinful nature].
[Mary was impregnated by the Father however Mary is not the true mother of Jesus, the true mother of Jesus is the Holy Spirit ]

Jesus has two Mothers: Jesus said, "Whoever does not hate his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to Me. And whoever does [not] love his father and his mother as I do cannot become a [disciple] to Me. For My mother [gave me falsehood], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life." Gospel of Thomas Saying 110

In Hebrew the word spirit is a feminine noun. That is why it can be spoken of as a Mother giving birth. Therefore Jesus has 2 mothers Mary is Jesus' natural mother according to the flesh who could only give him falsehood or death by genetic inheritance. By falsehood we understand this to mean adamic condemnation which brings forth death which Jesus needed to be saved from Hebrews 5:7

when the holy spirit overshadowed Mary this was a miracle however Jesus was made of human nature his flesh was the same as our flesh he did not an immaculate nature or angelic nature. Therefore he would need to be born of the spirit to have eternal life

However the holy spirit is Jesus' mother by his resurrection from the dead by being born again.

The Lord was conceived (born again) from what is imperishable, from God. The [Lord arose] from among the dead. But [He did not come into being as he was. Rather [his body] was [completely] perfect. It was of flesh, and this [flesh is indeed] true flesh.¹ [Yet our flesh] is not true, but rather a mirror-image of the true [flesh]. (¹Jn 1:14, 20:27, II-Jn 7; NHS p. 174 Gospel of Philip

Romans 1:3  Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4  And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Jesus came in the flesh of the seed of David when he was resurrected from the dead by the spirit of holiness he was born of the spirit

John 3:6 What has been born from the flesh is flesh, and what has been born from the spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel because I told you, YOU people must be born again.
8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone that has been born from the spirit.”

Notice the feminine description of the spirit in v8 one is born of the spirit. to use the langue of being born is describing the holy spirit as a mother

Mt 11:19 But wisdom is justified by her children.

Therefore the holy spirit is a feminine aspect of God

The holy spirit is a force, the invisible power and energy of the Father by which God is everywhere present. The chosen messengers have been given only the power and authority from Yahweh they need to accomplish their mission. Gen 1:2; Num 11:17; Mt 3:16; John 20:22; Ac 2:4, 17, 33. The Spirit is not a 'separate' or 'other' person. Ac 7:55, 56; Re 7:10 It is God's own radiant power, ever out flowing from Him, by which His 'everywhereness' is achieved. Ps 104:30; 1 Cor 12:4-11.
The Spirit is personal in that it is of God Himself: it is not personal in the sense of being some other person within the Godhead"

Mary is the virgin whom no power defiled [she was a Righteous woman]. She [Mary – the symbolic “womb” of spiritual birth] is a great anathema to the Hebrews, who are the apostles and the apostolic men [even these were anathema because they were all still “double minded” and could not comprehend what Mary truly represented at the time]. This virgin whom no power defiled [...] the powers defile themselves.

And the Lord would not have said "My Father who is in Heaven" (Mt 16:17), unless he had had another father [the other father was the “first man Adam” through His physical “genetic” seed line for one must first be born of flash for "that", says Jesus himself, "which is born of the flesh is flesh" (John 3:6)  and this Paul explains in another place by saying, that "He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh" (Rom. 8:3) in the offering of his body once (Heb. 10:10,12,14). Sin could not have been condemned in the body of Jesus, if it had not existed there. His body was as unclean as the bodies of those for whom he died; for he was born of a woman, and "not one" can bring a clean body out of a defiled body;], but he would have said simply "My father"  [Jesus also had a physical father in Eli and was adopted in the Royal family by Joseph].

The female must make herself male Gospel of Thomas 114

The female must make herself male

Gospel of Thomas Saying 114:

Simon Peter said to Him, "Let Mary leave us, for women are not worthy of Life." Jesus said, "I myself shall lead her in order to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every woman who will make herself male will enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

Unlike the Gospel of Philip and other gnostic gospels Mary here in this saying needs to be transform in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven she does not have any special knowledge

Jesus is not suggesting a sex-change operation, but is using 'male' and 'female' metaphorically to refer to the higher and lower aspects of human consciousness. Mary is thus to undergo a spiritual transformation from her earthly, material, passionate nature (which is equivalent with the female) to a heavenly, spiritual, intellectual nature (which is equivalent with the male).

it is to be understood that "male" symbolizes the spiritual Believers, and "female" symbolizes the unenlightened Believers, rather than actually referring to males and females.

It is not just Simon Peter who had a problem with women all the dispels thought like this Jn 4:27 and it was also part of Jewish society too.

Women or WOMAN a female adult. However, the word woman is sometimes used in the Bible to refer to a weak and helpless man (Is.:3:12; 19:16).

In several instances women are used symbolically to represent the church or organisations of people. They also are employed to symbolize cities. Christ’s glorified congregation is spoken of as his “bride,” also called “the holy city, New Jerusalem.”—Jn 3:29; Re 21:2, 9; 19:7; compare Eph 5:23-27; Mt 9:15; Mr 2:20; Lu 5:34, 35.

Yahweh spoke to the nation of Israel as his “wife,” he being as “a husband” to her by reason of the Law covenant relationship between them. In restoration prophecies he speaks to Israel in this way, sometimes directing his words to Jerusalem, the governing city of the nation. The “sons” and “daughters” (Isa 43:5-7) of this woman were the members of the nation of Israel.—Isa 51:17-23; 52:1, 2; 54:1, 5, 6, 11-13; 66:10-12; Jer 3:14; 31:31, 32.

In many instances other nations or cities are referred to as feminine or as women. A few are: Moab (Jer 48:41), Egypt (Jer 46:11), Rabbah of Ammon (Jer 49:2), Babylon (Jer 51:13), and symbolic Babylon the Great.—Re 17:1-6.

"Male and female must become one (Saying 22 and Commentary). Jesus will 'draw' her (John 12:32) so that she will become 'one spirit' with him (1 Corinthians 6:17).

In order to enter into the kingdom of heaven, women must become men. The 'house of God' is reserved 'for the spiritual ones alone; when they come there they cast off their garments [see Saying 37] and all become bridegrooms [Saying 75], having been made male by the Holy Spirit' (Hippolytus, Ref., 5, 8, 44).

Mary Magdalene can also be explained as representing the psyche of the carnal consciousness. This psyche is demoniacal, and from it Jesus cast out seven demons (Luke 8:2). It is there that the emotions have their centers of action. It is the seat of desire.
The feelings and affections, which are the seat of the emotions in our unredeemed state, belong to the soul.

The soul is a feminine name in Hebrew, Greek, Coptic, the soul is the natural body and in the bible the soul is sometimes our desires or the rational mind. Sin is born of the soul:

James 3:15 Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible: this wisdom is not one from above coming down, but is earthly born of the soul demoniacal” therefore it is within our souls that we give birth to desire, sin, and death.

thus the soul our desires or the rational mind is a female principle within us

Philo: Now the female offspring of the soul are wickedness and passion, but a healthy state of the passions and virtue is male,

James: 1 : 13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. SIN... GIVES BIRTH TO DEATH: 1Co 5:54-56; Rom 5:12; 1Jo 2:16,17.

Psalms: 7:14 14 Look! There is one that is pregnant with what is hurtful, And he has conceived trouble and is bound to give birth to falsehood

The language of child-bearing in connection with lust and sin is echoed by James (Jam 1:13-15). So wicked men bring forth "children" (that is sin) after their own "likeness" (Gal 5:19-21; Rom 1:29-31; 1Co 6:9,10), and are thus known by their "fruits" (Mat 7:16,20).

In Rev 14:4, here it speaks of the salvation of males that is man and women who have become males in Christ Jesus “These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from humanity as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb," the 144,000 described as standing with the Lamb on Mount Zion are said to be the only ones to master the “new song.” (Re 14:1-4) This would indicate that they make up the “bride” of the Lamb. (Re 21:9) their being “virgins” would not mean that none of these 144,000 persons had never been married, for the Scriptures do not forbid persons to marry. (1Ti 3:2; 4:1, 3)

Neither would it imply that all the 144,000 were men, for “there is neither male nor female” as far as the spiritual relationship of Christ’s joint heirs is concerned. (Ga 3:28) The “women” therefore must be symbolic women, doubtless religious organizations such as Babylon the Great and her ‘daughters,’ false religious organizations, the joining of and participation in which would prevent one from being spotless. (Re 17:5)

The virgins are symbolic of spiritual purity (see 2Cor. 11:2). Redeemed believers will not compromise with evil. They will reject false doctrine and refuse to worship the beast. In the New Testament, the firstfruits are the first part of a crop to be gathered, implying a much larger harvest to come later (see 1Cor. 16:15). At times, the term emphasizes only the sanctified nature of a sacrifice (see James 1:18). Certainly the commitment of the 144,000 to God emphasizes that they are holy ones, set apart to God. However, the continuing offer of the gospel (v. 6) and the harvest imagery (v. 15) also implies that many others will come to faith in Jesus Christ (vv. 12, 13).

The Artificial Insemination of Mary with David's seed

The Artificial insemination of Mary

Ebionites denied Jesus' pre-existence, there was a sub-group which did not deny the virgin birth

(Artificial insemination of the natural 1000-year-old seed, miraculously preserved, by the Power of the Most High???)

Romans 1:3 - “Concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the FLESH.”

John 3:6 - “That which is born of the flesh is FLESH.”

Matthew 19:26 - “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with man this is not possible, but with God all things are possible.”

2 Samuel 7:12-13 - “12 “When your [that is David's] days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

1 Kings 8:19 - “Thy [David’s] son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.”

Psalm 132:11 - “The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; of the fruit of THY body will I set upon thy throne.”

John 7:42 - “Hath not the scriptures said, that Christ cometh of the seed of David?”

Acts 2:30 - “Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the FLESH, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.”

Acts 13:23 - “Of this man’s [David’s] seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus.”

Revelation 22:16 - “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the OFFSPRING of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Some said, "Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit." They are in error. They do not know what they are saying. When did a woman ever conceive by a woman? Mary is the virgin whom no power defiled.... And the Lord would not have said "My Father who is in Heaven" (Mt 16:17), unless he had had another father, but he would have said simply "My father". The Gospel of Philip

But remember this: The unbroken of lineage is reckoned through the seed of the father (male). The lineage of Jesus in Matthew and Luke give Mary and her husband, Joseph, as descendants of David. But Joseph was not the natural father of Jesus.

Now, "That which is born of the FLESH is FLESH; and that which is born of the SPIRIT is SPIRIT" (John 3:6). This indicates that FLESH does not bring forth SPIRIT, nor does SPIRIT bring forth FLESH. Therefore, the seed that was planted in Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit was a natural seed and not a spiritual seed. Whose natural seed did the Holy Spirit use? It plainly tells us it was the SEED OF DAVID, in the following testimonies:

2 Sam. 7:12-13 and I.. Chron. 17:1.1-1.1, quoting from Lesser’s translation:

"When thou [David] sleep with thy fathers I will set up THY SEED ... which shall proceed OUT OF THY BODY ... and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever ... I, TOO, will be to him AS a father and he shall INDEED [by his deeds] be to me AS a son."

Gabriel's statement to Mary about Jesus' FATHER: Luke 1:32 - "...he [Jesus] shall be CALLED (not born] the son of the Highest ... and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of HIS FATHER DAVID."

Jesus was David’s NATURAL son (not a remote descendant). "This is the Lord's doing, it is marvellous in our eyes" (Psa. 118:23). Since Jesus was not a descendant of David through the normal. MALE channel, then the NATURAL seed of David, OUT OF HIS LOINS, had to be miraculously preserved to be FERTILE and had to be ARTIFICIALLY implanted in Mary, since David had been DUST for 1000 years.

Luke's record of the birth of Jesus discloses that:

1. He was actually born of FLESH - the son of man, i. e., the son of David.

2. He was born the son of God, that is he would become the son of God INDEED, or by behaviour.
3. He was born the Saviour of the world.
4. He was born the King of the Jews.

It was necessary for Jesus to first QUALIFY for the last three TITLES, ordained of God, by a perfect obedience in the FLESH.

He qualified as the son of God at his baptism and resurrection.

He qualified as the saviour of the world at his crucifixion.
He qualified as the eternal King at his resurrection.

The Story of Mary Magdalene and the First Easter Egg

The Story of Mary Magdalene and the First Easter Egg

Image result for mary magdalene easter egg greek orthodox church

Jehovah's Witnesses claim that the Easter egg is a pagan symbol

The Easter egg in Christian tradition has a much humbler origin, and nothing to do with ancient pagan practices

One tradition concerning Mary Magdalene says that following the death and resurrection of Jesus, she used her position to gain an invitation to a banquet given by the Roman Emperor Tiberius.

Her purpose was to protest to him that his governor in Judea, Pontius Pilate, and the two high priests, had conspired and executed an innocent man, namely our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to this tradition, after the Ascension of Jesus, Mary went to the Emperor of Rome and greeted him with "Christ has risen," whereupon he pointed to an egg on his table and stated, "Christ has no more risen than that egg is red." After making this statement it is said the egg immediately turned blood red

This tradition of Mary Magdalene visiting Caesar Tiberius can be found in the Gospel of Nicodemus but it does not mention eggs:

Mary Magdalene said, weeping: Hear, O peoples, tribes, and tongues, and learn to what death the lawless Jews have delivered Him Who did them ten thousand good deeds. Hear, and be astonished. Who will let these things be heard by all the world? I shall go alone to Rome, to the Caesar. I shall show him what evil Pilate hath done in obeying the lawless Jews. (the Gospel of Nicodemus)

This she did. Going to Tiberius, she handed him an egg, saying: “Christ is risen.” It was the custom to give gifts to Caesar, but usually not something like an egg! Tiberius would not take the egg, but asked to know why she had offered it to him. Saint Mary explained that just as life is in an egg, so Christ the Life lay in the tomb. And as the chick breaks out of the “stone” of the shell, so Jesus came forth from the stone tomb in triumph over death. Taken aback, Tiberius demanded a sign that her words were true. Instantly the egg turned scarlet in Saint Mary’s hand, and she then spoke of Christ granting life through the shedding of His blood. It is from this incident that we have the custom of Easter eggs, which in the Eastern Churches are always bright red.

Learning of this offering by Mary Magdalene, the early Christians imitated her, presenting each other with eggs. Hence, eggs began to be used by Christians in the earliest centuries as a symbol of the Resurrection of Christ and of the regeneration of Christians for a new and a better life along with it.

For Orthodox Christians, the egg symbolizes the empty rock tomb from which Jesus Christ arose after Ηis Crucifixion.

Consider the following words from the Catholic Encyclopedia: “Because the use of eggs was forbidden during Lent, they were brought to the table on Easter Day, colored red to symbolize the Easter joy. This custom is found not only in the Latin but also in the Oriental Churches.”

Traditionally, Easter eggs are dyed throughout the Orthodox Christian world on Holy Thursday, and they are dyed red to represent the redeeming blood of Christ that was shed on the Cross, the white egg (before being dyed) represents the white marble tomb were Christ's body was laid after He was taken down from the Cross, and the hard shell of the egg symbolises the sealed tomb of Christ

Easter--The awakening and raising to spiritual consciousness of the divine mind in man, which has been dead in trespasses and sins and buried in the tomb of materiality.

Should We Worship Mary the Mother of Jesus Gospel of Thomas saying 79

Should We Worship Mary Gospel of Thomas saying 79

Gospel of Thomas saying 79 A woman in the crowd said to him, "Blessed are the womb that bore you and the breasts that nourished you!" He said to [her], "Blessed are those who have heard the father's utterance (or Word) and truly kept it! For days are coming when you (plur.) will say, 'Blessed are the womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk!

This saying in Thomas also found in the gospel of Luke would certainly have been a fine opportunity for Jesus to pay special honor to his mother if that had been appropriate. He did not do so.

Jesus deflects praise from his mother and himself toward those who are obedient to God. So we should not worship Jesus’ mother or give her honour for she was just flesh and blood like us and we should only honour and worship Yahweh our Elohim

382 Mary, the mother of Jesus, was unique, in that she gave birth to a son by a special miracle, without the intervention of the customary physical means. This of course does not mean that she was more than human, any more than that her son was more than human. She had as much need to pray to Allah as anyone else. The Christian dogma, in all sects except the Unitarian, holds that Jesus was God and the son of God. The worship of Mary became the practice in the Roman Catholic Church, which calls Mary the "Mother of God". This seems to have been endorsed by the Council of Ephesus in 431 A.C., in the century before Muhammad was born to sweep away the corruptions of the Church of Christ .

The woman who says how Blessed Mary is to have given birth to Jesus is thinking carnally. She believes that Mary gave life to Jesus, but flesh gives birth to flesh. God could turn stones into men (and He basically did!). Again man was created, but spirit is born of spirit. So God gives birth to spirit.

Saying 101) <Jesus said,> "Whoever does not hate his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to Me. And whoever does [not] love his father and his mother as I do cannot become a [disciple] to Me. For My mother [gave me falsehood], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life."

For My birth mother [gave me death], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life." April deconick translation

Jesus birth mother could only give him death or falsehood which we understand to be sin in the flesh. but his true mother give him life. Sin, is an equivalent expression  for human nature.

Jesus goes on to tell this woman that the lucky ones are those who hear the Word of God and do what He says.

The last part of this Saying is a warning of disaster to come, when children will be much more a burden than a blessing, but whether Jesus is speaking about 70 CE or at the end of the present age is impossible to determine so I think it is both.

Jesus says that difficult times are coming for those thinking and living carnally.  God will break us like a Potter breaks and then refashions a pot. He will shape us into perfection, which is His image!

79) #A woman [a Jew who understood that the scriptures were pointing to Christ] from the crowd said to Him, "Blessed are the womb [Judaism (Gal 1:15)] which bore you and the breasts [the Old and New Testaments] which nourished You [He spoke forth both of these as the Word of God]." He said to her, "Blessed are those [the Elect] who have heard [the higher/inward (spiritual) meaning of] the word [in both Testaments] of the Father [Spirit-level as opposed to the mother which is of the flesh and blood level] and have truly kept it [obeyed and observed it as opposed to the Jews and the "Christo-pagans who do not]. #For there will be days [2,000 years (2 spiritual days) of Messianic age] when you will say, 'Blessed are the womb which has not conceived [true Judaism] and the breasts [of true Christianity] which have not given milk [both were subverted into "worldly" religions before they ever had a chance to bring forth adequate fruit to give birth to the spirit in anyone] .'"

The Ascent of the Soul The Gospel of Mary

The Ascent of the Soul The Gospel of Mary

The Ascent of the Soul in The Gospel of Mary

"And Desire said, 'I did not see you go down, yet now I see you go up. So why do you lie since you belong to me?'
"The soul answered, 'I saw you. You did not see me nor did you know me. You took the garment (I wore) for my (true) self. And you did not recognise me.'
"After it had said these things, it left rejoicing greatly.
"Again, it came to the third Power, which is called 'Ignorance.' [It] examined the soul closely, saying, 'Where are you going? You are bound by wickedness. Indeed you are bound! Do not judge!'
"And the soul said, 'Why do you judge me, since I have not passed judgement? I have been bound, but I have not bound (anything). They did not recognise me, but I have recognised that the universe is to be dissolved, both the things of earth and those of heaven.'
"When the soul had brought the third Power to naught, it went upward and saw the fourth Power. It had seven forms. The first form is darkness; the second is desire; the third is ignorance; the fourth is zeal for death; the fifth is the realm of the flesh; the sixth is the foolish wisdom of the flesh; the seventh is the wisdom of the wrathful person. These are the seven Powers of Wrath.
"They interrogated the soul, 'Where are you coming from, human-killer, and where are you going, space-conqueror?'
"The soul replied, saying, 'What binds me has been slain, and what surrounds me has been destroyed, and my desire has been brought to an end, and ignorance has died. In a world, I was set loose from a world [an]d in a type, from a type which is above, and (from) the chain of forgetfulness which exists in time. From this hour on, for the time of the due season of the aeon, I will receive rest in silence.' "

The beginning of the vision is missing the revelation starts with the second power Desire. I would suppose that the vision is a revelation to Mary Magdalene about herself about her own enlightenment

"And Desire said, 'I did not see you go down, yet now I see you go up. So why do you lie since you belong to me?'

"The soul answered, 'I saw you. You did not see me nor did you know me. You mistook the garment (I wore) for my (true) self. And you did not recognise me.'

"After it had said these things, it left rejoicing greatly.

The Garment here is the ego or personality which the soul clothes itself with it is not the true real self which is the Christ consciousness

Again, it came to the third Power, which is called 'Ignorance.' [It] examined the soul closely, saying, 'Where are you going? You are bound by wickedness. Indeed you are bound! Do not judge!'

Ignorance judges the soul to be bound by the wickedness of the passions and lacking in discernment do not judge it commands. The soul is bound to the lower world by its physical nature which produces sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery

Mary Magdalene represents the psyche of the carnal consciousness. This psyche is demoniacal, and from it Jesus cast out seven demons (Luke 8:2). It is there that the emotions have their centres of action. It is the seat of desire.

Now the female offspring of the soul are wickedness and passion, but a healthy state of the passions and virtue is male,

The feelings and affections, which are the seat of the emotions in our unenlightened heart, belong to the soul.

The soul is ascending through different levels of the carnal consciousness or the senses until it raises to the higher self the Christ consciousness which releases the soul from the emotional errors (the demons) that have their existence in the unenlightened heart and establishes peace and repose in the consciousness

The purification of the soul is a change of mind and purpose (Acts 5:31; 11:18). Belief in the gospel of the kingdom is to have this state of mind and character according to “the law of faith.” The Gospel is intended to enlighten and purify the mind while enriching the emotions, attitudes and decisions with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance (Gal 5:22-23) . Where the truth prevails there is 'righteousness, and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit' (Romans 14:17) which will result in edification of one another (v 19).

The 7 forms of the fourth power represent the 7 demons cast out of Mary Magdalene. The powers are the Archons or the rulers of power of the senses

The 2nd Power is Desire the carnal mind craving, the 3rd Power is Ignorance it believes it has power to judge others, but the soul knows that all power belongs to God alone, the fourth Power is Wrath which has 7 forms the seven Powers of Wrath

the 7 forms of the fourth power are (spiritual) darkness, the second desire (craving), the third ignorance (of the Truth), the fourth is the zeal for death (a lack of consciousness), the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh (which enslaves the emotions), the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh (materialistic worship, born of the carnal mind), the seventh is the wrathful wisdom (false doctrines and theories born of the carnal mind, which is a counterfeit of true Wisdom). These are the seven powers of wrath (the limited and inferior thoughts and attitudes ).

Their collective character and name is wrath

The idea of seven steps of ascent to divinity (which correspond to the seven heavens) is widely known.

The Ascent of the Soul in The Gospel of Mary is not about the soul ascending to the literal heavens but the heavens which is a state of consciousness in harmony with the thoughts of God.

The Ascent of the Soul is to it free from the powers of human nature not matter

The 4 Powers are within ourselves

The 4 Powers are the 7 forms which are established as parts of our Being

They represent the senses

the powers are a personification of human nature or human qualities this is seen from the Testament of Reuben chapter 2 the concerning the seven spirits of error

Testament of Reuben

2:1 And now hear me, my children, what things I saw concerning the seven spirits of error, when I repented.
2:2 For seven spirits are established against man, and they are the sources of the deeds of youth.
2:3 And seven other spirits are given to man at creation, so that by them every human deed is done.
2:4 The first is the spirit of life, with which man's whole being is created. The second is the spirit of sight, with which comes desire.
2:5 The third is the spirit of hearing, with which comes instruction. The fourth is the spirit of smell, with which is given tastes for drawing air and breath.
2:6 The fifth is the spirit of speech, with which comes knowledge.
2:7 The sixth is the spirit of taste, for consuming food and drink; by it comes strength, because in food is the substance of strength.
2:8 The seventh is the spirit of procreation and intercourse, with which comes sin through fondness for pleasure.
2:9 For this reason, it is the last in order of creation, and the first in that of youth, because it is filled with ignorance, and leads the youth as a blind man into a ditch, and like an animal over a cliff.

3:1 In addition to all these there is an eighth spirit of sleep, with which is brought about the trance of nature and the image of death.
3:2 With these spirits are mingled the spirits of error.
3:3 First, the spirit of fornication resides in the nature and in the senses; the second, the spirit of insatiableness, in the stomach; the third, the spirit of fighting, in the liver and gall.
3:4 The fourth is the spirit of flattery and trickery, in order that through excessive effort one might appear to be at the height of his power.
3:5 The fifth is the spirit of pride, that one may be boastful and arrogant. The sixth is the spirit of lying, which through destructiveness and rivalry, handles his affairs smoothly and secretively even with his relatives and his household.
3:6 The seventh is the spirit of injustice, with which are thefts and acts of rapacity, that a man may fulfil the desire of his heart; for injustice works together with the other spirits by the taking of gifts.
3:7 And with all these the spirit of sleep is joined which is that of error and fantasy.
3:8 And so every young man is destroyed, darkening his mind from the truth, and not understanding the Law of God, nor obeying the admonitions of his fathers as befell me also in my youth.
3:9 And now, my children, love the truth, and it will preserve you: hear you the words of Reuben your father.

The Son of Man is within you The Gospel of Mary

The Son of Man is within you The Gospel of Mary

33) When the Blessed One had said this, He greeted them all, saying, Peace be with you. Receive my peace unto yourselves.

34) Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you.
35) Follow after Him!
36) Those who seek Him will find Him.
37) Go then and preach the gospel of the Kingdom.
38) Do not lay down any rules beyond what I appointed you, and do not give a law like the lawgiver lest you be constrained by it.
39) When He said this He departed.

Jesus departs saying, “the Son of Man is within you,” so do not be lead astray by false teachings. The disciples weep and are very distressed by what Jesus has said.

34) Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you.
35) Follow after Him!
36) Those who seek Him will find Him.

Regarding the "Son of Man", or “Son of Adam”, “the Son of Man is within you.” another translation renders that as “the Seed of True Humanity” or child of true humanity. The Eastern term is “atman”, the true self or Spirit of Life within.

Such gendered terminology definitely requires contextualisation, however, some scholars have favoured new translations of terms that are gender neutral terms. For instance, “Son of Man” appears in earlier translations like Wilson and MacRae, yet, is abandoned by King in favour of “child of true humanity,” 43 while De Boer replaces the term with “Human Being

43 King, The Gospel of Mary of Magdala, p. 33.
44 De Boer, Mary Magdalene, pp. 81-86.

Some commentary found in a footnote of the same translation adds:

“The disciples must search within themselves, to find the Seed of True Humanity that is within each person. They must guard against those who try to lead them astray by requiring that a person conform to what is outside.” (The Complete Gospels, Robert J. Miller)

Like the Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Mary has recourse here to the Gospel of Luke 17:20-23 where Jesus warns the disciples not to let themselves be led astray by false signs the saying in Luke the kingdom of God is in your midst.” is turned into the affirmation that the the Son of Man is within you in the gospel of mary .

Luke 17 no one will say, 'Look here!' or 'There!' For you see, the kingdom of God is among you."

The Gospel of Luke declares that the Kingdom is already present. Believers do not need to wait for its coming because it is present in the mission of Jesus.

The Gospel of Thomas also teaches that the presence of the kingdom is within the believer and it also locates it outside of us as well which would be the Church

Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realise that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

(113) His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?" Jesus said, "It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying 'here it is' or 'there it is.' Rather, the kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it."

The Kingdom is not in the sky or the sea rather God's kingdom is already present within the believer and outside as the Church God's spiritual Kingdom

82) Jesus said, "He who is near me is near the fire, and he who is far from me is far from the kingdom."

Here in Saying 82 Jesus is identified as both fire and Kingdom for the king is the kingdom therefore we should understand that since Jesus is the Kingdom and the kingdom is within you thus the son of man is within you

The Testimony of Truth
he has to come to know the Son of Man, that is, he has come to know himself. This is the perfect life, that man know himself by means of the All. (The Testimony of Truth)

the Son of Man is within you in it is there within oneself that one must seek him and it is there that one will find him only so is it possible to follow after him

The son of man is Jesus, the true self within or the Christ consciousness we must follow him or it

Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.

this last saying is a reference to the Saviour's earlier command to find the son of man within. to find the son of man within or to put on the perfect Man means to to know the Christ consciousness one's true self whose roots are nourished by the Good We must acquire this spiritual self or spiritual image as one's truest identity

Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you.
35) Follow after Him!
36) Those who seek Him will find Him.

Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.

Jesus represents God's idea of man in expression (Son of man); Christ is that idea in the absolute (Son of God). The Christ is the man that God created in His image and likeness, the perfect-idea man, and is the real self of all men.

Christ is the one and only complete, ideal man in the mind of the everywhere present God; the "only begotten Son of God" and "hid with Christ in God." The "Son of man" is the thought of this spiritual man, or idea of God, and like all thoughts is subject to the limitations of its own identity. By voluntarily casting off these limitations the man identity may come into realization of its own universality as the only begotten of God. So we find Jesus referring to Himself as both the "Son of God" and the "Son of man," because He had reached a place in understanding where He realized His relation to Being. In John 7:29 Jesus explains this realization when He says, "I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me."
